Summer Flower Planting Huge Success!

It had been 20 years and one pandemic since the last time the neighbors on the 200 block of East 78 street organized a block event. Well, better late than never! On June 9th, from 4PM to 7PM a brave crew of amateur gardeners — plus the crew from CityScape, our block’s longtime landscapers — got their hands dirty and gave the block a full spring makeover. Where once there were mostly empty beds since the decline of the early spring tulips, now there are beds bursting with pink and red Impatients. There were gardeners less than a year old, and plenty who have lived on the block for many decades. Many thanks to everyone who came out, and especially the Block Association ring leaders who made it happen!
